Nick Cave was born in Warracknabeal, Victoria, Australia in 1957. He is best known for his groundbreaking and innovative work as front man of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. He is also well known for his pioneering work as co-founder of the post-punk group, The Birthday Party. The Birthday Party was revered in the 80s as a conglomerate of goth, punk, industrial, free jazz and blues oriented band with a large focus on the dark lyrical content. In 2006, Nick Cave formed a garage rock band, Grinderman that featured an all-star lineup. In 2013, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds released a new album called Push The Sky Away. This has become Nick Cave's most successful and critically acclaimed album in his vast musical oeuvre. The music of Nick Cave has been described as intensely emotional, lyrically inspired as well as features themes of sex, love, death, religion and obsessions. Nick Cave is one of the most successful Australian musicians of all time. Recently, Nick Cave was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. Many of Nick Cave's songs have appeared in television and film. Since 1979, Nick Cave has released 21 full-length studio albums. In addition, he has worked on 14 original movie scores. He has also published 8 literary books since 1988. Those include the works King Ink, And The Ass Saw The Angel, The Pocket Canons, Complete Lyrics and The Death of Bunny Munro. Nick Cave is currently touring the world on the back of his new album release with The Bad Seeds.
