He has had much success and received much acclaim in a music career that spans over 20 years. Juicy J, who was born on April 5th in 1975, hails from north Memphis, Tennessee. This is where he jump started his music legacy as a young teenager. Juicy J, along with long time running mate DJ Paul, Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca, formed the legendary southern hip-hop group Three Six Mafia. In 1995 before the debut of their first album Mystic Stylez, they added two more members: Crunchy Black and Gangsta Boo. The group released music for the next two decades putting out a total of 9 albums. This made them one of the longest standing hip-hop groups throughout hip-hop entire existence. Three Six Mafia produced gold and platinum singles and also achieved two RIAA certified platinum albums with When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 and Most Known Unknown. Juicy would also release two solo albums: Chronicles of the Juice Man and Hustle Till I Die. With all this success, Juicy J's career was yet to peak but this would change in 2005 when he and DJ Paul produced "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" for the movie Hustle & Flow. This song won Juicy J an academy award for best original song.
