Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez (1977) also known by his stage name, Daddy Yankee, is a well-known Puerto Rican Reggaetón musician in the Spanish speaking world. Prior to embarking on a successful music career, he was a gifted baseball player. He was nominated by TIME magazine as being one of the most influential people in the world due to his contribution to the Reggaetón genre which he is considered one of the founding fathers of. In 2005, his status as an international superstar was strengthen with his partnership with the well renowned Interscope Records and Jimmy Iovine. Yankee, was already a reputed artist with the likes of "Gasolina" and the "Barrio Fino" which surpassed the typical the Spanish speaking audience and became an international sensation in many countries across the globe. Daddy Yankee has ventured out of music production and also pursued an acting career in films such as Vampiros and Talento de Barrio, as well as three television shows. Daddy Yankee's international reputation has seen him work with coveted artists such as Justin Bieber, Fergie, Akon and Luis Fonsi. The collaboration with Bieber, "Despacito" was a chart topping, record-breaking single which is now considered one of Reggaetón's quintessential songs.
