Information of Blur

Blur are revered as one of the most influential and successful British pop bands of the 1990s. Core members Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Dave Rowntree and Alex James formed the group in 1988 in London, England. Unlike most of their British alternative rock contemporaries, Blur's lineup has remained consistent since their initial inception in 1988. Blur's debut album, Leisure was released in 1991, which launched them into instantaneous fame and recognition. The album was massively received by fans and pundits alike as well as received unanimous critical acclaim and media press.

Blur were widely known for blending a myriad of unique musical genres together such as pop, rock, alternative, shoegaze and space rock into their original sound. Blur become incredibly influential throughout their prolific musical career. The band has influenced contemporary groups like Radiohead, The Dandy Warhols, The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jack White, Interpol and The Strokes. Since 1993, Blur has released seven full-length studio albums. Most recently, the band has performed at the close of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. In 2013, Blur announced that they will be headlining the prestigious Belgium music festival called Rock Werchter. In addition, Blur will be performing at the 2013 Primavera and Coachella music festivals. Blur has listed many diverse musical influences on their sound such as The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, The Sex Pistols and The Beatles. The group has also hinted at the possibility of recording a new album in the months to come.
