After the success of the inaugural festival, The Big Green Cardigan returns in 2012 with the same policy and philosophy - intimate, chilled, relaxed and not big and brash. The Big Green Cardigan restricts itself to a limited number of people to create a relaxed atmosphere, no long queues for the bar or toilets, but with the full festival experience all set within the East Sussex countryside, situated just down the road. Of course there will be lots of music, no distinctive style, the theme is that there is no theme - any genre is possible on our 2 stages from blues to Celtic to jazz. It’s all undercover so don’t worry about the unpredictable British weather.
Artists due to appear include the 'cuddly toy' himself, Roachford, who has notched up 7 top 40 hits and 4 top 30 albums to his credit. Black Horse Festival favourites, the barnstorming Achanak, who, as well as having many friends locally, have played all the major festivals worldwide. Throw in Medieval folk rockers Circulus and a late night chill zone. Not forgetting a good smattering of local artists including, King Size Slim, Titus, Mike Bolton and, a reformed and gigging again, Expandis. 3 days of quality music no cover bands. There are still a few sets available for acoustic based artists, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
One of the successes of last year was our bar stocked with 15 Real Ales, all brewed in Sussex and a wine bar supplied by Sedlescombe vineyard. New this year is the opportunity to hire a Yurt for the weekend.
