OneRepublic is a pop rock band originally founded in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2003 by former high school classmates Ryan Tedder (vocals) and Zach Filkins (guitar, backup vocals). They first found success as an unsigned act on the social media site MySpace after being dropped by their first label, Columbia Records, and eventually became the first rock band to be signed by Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group. Their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in 2007 and reached Platinum status. The remix of the album’s lead single, Apologize, was the first international hit for the band and garnered them a Grammy nomination. Their second album, Waking Up, included "Good Life," a Billboard Hot 100 top ten single. The band’s third album, Native, made it to the top ten on the Billboard 200 list and also produced two hit singles, "If I Lose Myself" and "Counting Stars." OneRepublic has said that they are not influenced by one particular genre of music, but have named The Beatles and U2 as bands that have influenced their musical style. In addition to Tedder and Filkins, other OneRepublic members include Eddie Fisher (drums), Brent Kutzie (bass, cello), and Drew Brown (lead guitar), who can often be found playing to fans on tour.
