Smith Westerns are a popular indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The Smith Westerns were formed by core group members Cullen Omori, Max Kakacek, Cameron Omori and Julien Ehrlich in 2007. The band was immediately signed to HoZac Records and has since joined prestigious labels Fat Possum and Mom and Pop. According to the band's website, Smith Westerns cite influential '70s bands David Bowie, Marc Bolan, T Rex, The Who and Brit Pop as major influences on their original sound. Since their initial inception in 2007, the Smith Westerns have gone on to become one of the most critically acclaimed rock bands in their genre. The group has released three full-length studio albums, including their most recent offering Soft Will in 2013. The group continues to tour the world off the back of their 2013 new album release.
