Information of Sigur Rós

Sigur Ros is one of the most famous Icelandic post-rock and ambient bands that formed in early 1990s. The group is known for their eclectic music style and blending of rock, jazz and classical music. The group formed in Reykjavik in 1994. The founding members of Sigur Ros are Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson. Since the '90s, the band has gone on to receive unanimous worldwide acclaim as well as develop an immense worldwide following. The band's playful name was derived from Jónsi's sister, Sigurrós Elin.

Since 1997, Sigur Ros has released seven full-length studio albums. Most notably, the band released their seventh album Kveikur, in 2013. In addition, the band has played at many prestigious music festivals around the world. Although the band has not received as much positive critical acclaim for their album Kveikur, they are still regarded as one of the most exciting and well-respected Icelandic bands of all time.
