Rage Against the Machine is a rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1991. The band featured Zach de la Rocha on vocals, Tom Morello on guitar, Tim Commerford on bass and Brad Wilk on drums. RATM is known for its very liberal anti-corporate political views, which also featured heavily in the music's lyrical content. By combining hip-hop vocals with hard rock instrumentation, Rage Against the Machine pre-dated the rap-rock trend of the late 1990s by several years. They received much critical acclaim for their social awareness and activism. The band's self-titled first album was immediately successful, and in 1993 they earned a prominent slot on the Lollapalooza festival tour. They had several popular music video hits on MTV, including "Bulls on Parade," "Renegades of Funk" and "Sleep Now in the Fire." Over the course of their nine-year career, Rage would tour constantly and release three official albums. Their political consciousness compelled them to frequently donate their concert earnings to charity. In 2016 Rage Against the Machine became part of the supergroup 'Prophets of Rage' Recently, after announcing the end of this project with some members of Public Enemy or Cypress Hill, Rage Against the Machine returns to the stage stepping on stronger than ever. The new singles from RATM (Guerrilla Radio, Sleep Now in the Fire) keep the vindictive essence that made them jump to the international scene and that this year we can enjoy on their world tour.
