Paul Simon is one of America's most well known songwriters. Paul Simon grew up in Newark, New Jersey in 1941. Paul Simon's first group was the vocal harmony songwriting duo of Simon and Garfunkel. In the Sixties, Simon and Garfunkel received an ample amount of commercial success with many number 1 singles. After the two-piece group split up in 1970, Paul Simon went on to achieve mainstream success as a solo performer and recording artist. Paul Simon has released 12 full-length studio albums. Paul Simon has contributed music to many films worldwide as well as received a dozen Grammy Awards. He was also inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Paul Simon released his self-titled debut album as a solo performed in 1972. He received universal critical acclaim. This transitional album after the breakup of his previous group, Simon and Garfunkel launched him into a successful and prolific solo career. His follow up sophomore album, Still Crazy After All These years was even more successful than its predecessor. This album was released in 1975 and reached number 1 on the US Billboard Music Charts. He received 2 Grammy Awards for this release. He received one for Best Male Pop Vocal and another Grammy for Album of The Year. Paul Simon continues to record original music. In addition, Paul Simon is continually performing live at many music festivals around the world. It has been stated that Paul Simon is working on a new full-length studio album.
