She studied as a ballet dancer throughout most of her life, but the British public know Paloma Faith as the smooth voice crooner of the hit 2009 single "Stone Cold Sober". Before signing big, Faith found a regular home on the stage through odd jobs as a magician's assistant and a singer in a burlesque cabaret. Pulling inspiration from legends like Etta James and Billie Holiday, Faith had to start from scratch and build her own sound and songwriting process until she eventually caught the attention of Epic Records label. Her debut record, Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?, peaked at number 9 on the UK charts. Her second release, Fall To Grace, went certified Platinum and saw a more successful worldwide release than her first. Paloma Faith has made several screen appearances on shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and was in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, directed by Terry Gilliam. One weird fact: in the late 2000's, Faith turned down the chance to play in Amy Winehouse's band and chose instead to go solo for her record label.
