Kansas is a legendary progressive rock group from Atlanta, Georgia and Topeka, Kansas. Core members Phil Ehart, Dave Hope and Kerry Livgren formed the band in 1973. Joel Warne, Don Montre, Dan Wright, Lynn Meredith and Larry Baker joined the band shortly after. Kansas signed with internationally recognized record labels Kirshner, MCA and Magna Carta. The legendary Rock group has released 14 full-length studio albums since 1974's eponymous offering. The last album that Kansas released was in 2000, which was entitled Somewhere To Elsewhere. The acclaimed album was supported by a worldwide tour in 2011 and 2012. The current lineup of Kansas consists of Steve Walsh, Phil Ehart, Billy Greer, David Ragsdale and Rich Williams. Kansas's most popular song, "Carry On Wayward Son" has premiered in many films around the world. This song is also featured in many contemporary music video games. Kansas has continued touring the world since their last album in 2000. In 2013, Kansas toured with Foreigner, The Marshall Tucker Band, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Paul Rodgers, Bachman and Turner, 38 Special and Molly Hatchet as part of a giant cruise concert series. Recently, Kansas has announced a 40th celebration series is being worked on and prepped for an upcoming release. The 40th anniversary celebration series is looking to feature a large symphony orchestra for a full range of tour dates. Kansas has also alluded to a future album release featuring a full cannon of their body of work.
