Born in Chesterton, Indiana, Jim Gaffigan knows about big families and broad, being the youngest of six. In 1988, he graduated from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business before having a go at comedy. Like a modern white Bill Cosby, Jim Gaffigan is credited for a very clean performance, while maintaining adult related material with a deliberative naive attitude and open mockery of the easily offended. Gaffigan has been a prominent figure featured on Comedy Central, with his routines animated in the series Shorties Watchin' Shorties and Comedy Central Presents. Comedy Central also featured his King Baby performance and Beyond The Pale in one hour specials. His comedic material can range from skits about his family and childhood, his Catholic heritage, his complexion, and laziness. His most quotable routines involve commentary on American eating habits and reflection on Hot Pockets. Ironically, Gaffigan wrestled in high school and run in division football. When he is not on stage, Gaffigan is often recognized for his smaller roles in commercials and movie spots. He has a quick on screen appearance in the comedy cult classic, Super Troopers, and was featured alongside fellow comedian Michael Ian Black for Sierra Mist soda.
