Frank Turner is a musician out of Meonstoke, Hampshire. Formerly of the band Million Dead, he went solo in 2005 and has released a number of albums. His style is a fusion of punk and folk sounds. He is backed by his band, Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd, Tarrant Anderson, Mat Nasir, and Nigel Powell. Frank Turner joined Million Dead, a post-hardcore band, in 2001. While they broke up in 2005, citing 'irreconcilable differences,' Turner had already been touring as a solo act. He continued to tour as a solo act, and released his first solo album, Sleep is For the Week, in 2007. He went back on the touring circuit, even appearing at SXSW, before releasing his second album, Love Ire & Song, in 2008. This led to a UK Tour that was cut short due to illness, the first time Turner had to cancel shows. Turner came back strong and in 2009 released his third album, Poetry of the Dead, and went back on tour in the UK and United States. He played numerous festivals and somehow found the time to record his 2011 release, England Keep My Bones. In 2013 he recorded in the United States for the first time. It was there he recorded his fifth album, Tape Deck Heart, which he supported with another UK tour.
