Colin Stetson is a Canadian saxophonist and composer currently based in Montreal. He is known for having worked with a huge number of artists, including Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Tom Waits, Feist, LCD Soundsystem and many more.
Stetson's solo work lies at an intersection of both the avant jazz tradition and the murkier worlds of noise, electronica and minimalism. A mastery of circular breathing allows him to create long unflinching waves of notes which are then layered with effects, rhythms and synthesised sound.
His work as a composer has also led him to create several film scores over the years, most notably the recent Ari Aster horror 'Hereditary'.
