Guitarist and sometimes vocalist for the Steve Miller Band, William Royce "Boz" Scaggs had been a staple in the blue-eyed soul, soft rock music scene with a lasting presence that dates to the '60's. Despite being in his late sixties, fast approaching his seventies, Boz Scaggs still continues to perform and regularly tours. As the son of a traveling salesman, Boz moved quite a bit in his younger life, but marked his time by learning to play the guitar. As a teenager, he met Steve Miller at St. Mark's School of Texas. When they attended university together, they started in blues bands like The Ardells and The Fabulous Knight Trains in the early sixties. They never worked together in the Steve Miller band until 1967 for the first two albums. In the meantime, he was signed to his own contract and released solo albums the same years. Boz Scaggs continued to produce music through the seventies and eighties, taking a hiatus for most of the nineties. During that time, he focused on his family and became co-owner of a nightclub in San Fransisco. Boz released Speak Low in 2008 and still makes time to this day tour each summer to the joy of his loyal fan following.
