Information of Biffy Clyro

Comprised of childhood friends Simon Neil and twins James and Ben Johnston, Biffy Clyro was formed in Kilmarnock, Scotland in 1995. Inspired by a common fascination with experimental rock, Biffy Clyro generated a unique, unpredictable sound that quickly harnessed recognition in the UK.

The buzz around the band quickly expanded after the release of their fourth studio album, Puzzle, in 2007. The album was a huge success as it easily went gold in the UK and skyrocketed sales to over 100,000 purchases, eventually going Platinum in 2012 with the sales of over 300,000 units. In the years following, Biffy Clyro released the singles, "Mountains," "That Golden Rule" and "Many of Horror," all consistantly topping the UK Top 10 singles chart. In 2013 Biffy Clyro was named "Best British Band" at the New Musical Express Awards in the UK.

The band has been influenced by a range of sounds from heavy metal legend Metallica to the off-kilter tempos of the Foo Fighters. Simon Neil leads the band on vocals and guitar, while Ben and James Johnston round out Biffy Clyro with their skills on the drums and bass.
