Information of Young The Giant
Young The Giant is a California indie rock band that first came together in 2004 under the name of The Jakes. During their first 4 years together, along with releasing their debut EP Shake My Hand, The Jakes experienced personal difficulties that caused a few of the original members to leave the band. By 2009, not only did the band change its name to Young The Giant, but the newly named Young The Giant experienced the loss of 3 band mates. The current lineup of Young The Giant consists of original members Sameer Gadhia, Eric Cannata, Francois Comtois and Jacob Tilley along with relative newcomer Payam Doostzadeh.
Young The Giant released their self titled studio album in 2010 and along with producing indie rock hits "My Body" and "Cough Syrup", the album Young The Giant was named Amazon.com's third best rock album of 2010. 2010 was also the year that Young The Giant first gained exposure on concert stages when they played on tour with indie rock darlings Minus the Bear and Steal Train. Along with playing on this tour, Young The Giant played In August 2011 on the main stage at Lollapalooza which was quickly followed by a September appearance at the wildly popular Austin City Limits Music Festival.
