Information of Weezer

Weezer formed in 1992, in Los Angeles, California. Originally consisting of Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Matt Sharp, and Jason Cropper, the skill of this alternative rock band was quickly recognized. After a month of existence, Weezer was performing their first show as the opening band for Dogstar (who were also debuting that night) at Raji’s Bar and Ribshack. By the spring of 1993, the band had signed with Geffen Records and began recording their self titled debut album, also known as The Blue Album. They began their first tour, opening for Live in October 1994. Meanwhile, the music video for the awesomely quirky single Buddy Holly, was drawing rapid attention to the band's original style and sound with it's "Happy Days" theme. In 2005, Weezer went on the road with the Foo Fighters, and this series of epic concerts, which quickly were being referred to as The Foozer, won “Most Creative Tour Package” at The 17th Annual Concert Industry Awards. An audience appreciative and appreciated band, Weezer is known and loved by fans for consistently great festival and concert performances. In 2008, they even began bringing contest winning audience members onstage to perform sets with them. After 15 years and 7 albums with Geffen Records, Weezer moved on to Epitaph in 2010. Since their inception, Weezer has faced a few member changes as well, and as of 2011 consisted of Rivers Cuomo, Brian Bell, Scott Shriner and Patrick Wilson.
