Information of U2

Since 1978 U2 has been one of the most influential rock bands of our time. With thirteen albums under their belts U2 has had some of the best and most memorable songs that one could hear. Songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday, One and Vertigo are always concert tour and festival favorites that fans want to hear over and over again. U2 is led by Bono on lead vocals, The Edge plays lead guitar and keyboards, Adam Clayton on bass guitar and Larry Mullen Jr. on drums. Originally hailing from Dublin Ireland U2's sound began with post punk influences but quickly grew into the popular music status that it has today. Never one to shy away from making a music video, U2's video stylings have been just as eclectic as their songs. The somber With or Without You video that is shot in all black and white or the colorful Mysterious Ways all show different sides of the award winning band. In 1988 U2 won its first of 22 Grammy awards, they have been nominated for 34 Grammy awards, more than any other band. They have also won 7 BRIT awards by the British Phonographic Industry and 14 Meteor awards in Ireland. MTV has bestowed 4 Video Music Awards on U2 and in 2005 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
