Theory of a Deadman (also known as TOAD or simply as Theory) is a rock band from Delta, British Columbia, Canada signed by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger to 604 Records. The band also includes traits of other music styles, such as country, metal and more acoustic elements. The band's lead singer, Tyler Connolly, gave Chad Kroeger a demo tape of their music while at an after-show party. So far, they have a total of 4 top 10 hits on the Mainstream Rock Chart. Named for their song about a man who was contemplating suicide, Theory of a Deadman is a Canadian rock band comprised of members Tyler Connolly, Dave Brenner, Dean Back and Joey Dandeneau. Theory of a Deadman released their self titled debut album in 2002, but it wasn't until the 2005 release of their second album, Gasoline, that the band gained widespread recognition outside of Canada. The band went on to release two more albums, Scars & Souvenirs and The Truth Is..., and between these 4 albums Theory of a Deadman has had 6 top ten singles, including "Bad Girlfriend" and "Lowlife". Their music has been described as a mix of country and post-grunge, and they enjoy experimenting with various musical genres. Throughout their career, Theory of a Deadman has played in concert with bands like Hinder, Shinedown and Stone Sour, and they even made an appearance at Crue Fest 2: The White Trash Circus.
