Information of Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk is a German electro-pop band created by Florian Schneider and Ralf Hutter in 1970. With their minimalistic instrumentation, driving rhythms, and synthesized vocals, the band is regarded as a pioneer in the realm of electronic music. Over the course of their first three albums, the duo of Hutter and Schneider worked with several different musicians in a fluctuating lineup. These early albums had an experimental feel to them, lacking the infectious pop-flavored hooks of their later work. Their 1973 album Ralf und Florian marked the debut of Kraftwerk's synthesizer-heavy sound; while the album is mainly instrumental, it also features the band's first use of a vocoder to lend a robotic sound to its vocals. Many more successful albums were released by Kraftwerk during the 70s and 80s, including Autobahn, Radio-Activity, Computer World, and Electric Cafe. During these decades, the band moved toward a more mainstream pop structure but also honed their signature electronic sound through the use of synthesizers and drum machines. Kraftwerk developed a worldwide fan base and maintained their dominance within the electronic genre, even as their signature sound became commonplace among pop bands. Kraftwerk released their last album, Minimum-Maximum, in 2005. They still tour the globe, recently performing for legions of dedicated fans around the world at headlining concerts or major festivals showcasing their entire albums during a state-of-the-art 3D show.
