Keith Lionel Urban, though Australian born, has seen a lucrative career in the country music industry in America, Canada, and New Zealand for more than two decades. From the age of six, he knew music was his calling and practiced on a variety of instruments from guitar to banjo to mandolin to piano and drums. Before starting on his own, Urban found success with a band The Ranch where he fronted on the guitar. To date, Keith Urban is the first male performer from New Zealand to reach the top 10 in the U.S. His self titled American LP release in 1999 was certified Platinum. Two years later, he was named Top New Male Vocalist and awarded the Country Music Association's Horizon Award. His single "Once in a Lifetime" set the record for the highest-debuting country single of all time on the Billboard charts. To date, his nine studio records have produced fifteen hit singles and fourteen number ones on the charts. Keith Urban married Nicole Kidman in 2006. They have two daughters. When not producing or performing, Urban has served as a voice coach judge on the network hit The Voice and has been slotted as a judge for American Idol.
