Jose Gonzalez initially played with a band called Back Against the Wall, a punk band that was influenced by the likes of The Misfits, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag. He then went on to play bass guitar for a band called Renascence. He would continue with them for five years between the years of 1993 and 1998. In 1997 and 1998 he also had a small stint as a guitarist with a band called Only If You Call Me Jonathan. By 2003, Gonzalez put out his first solo piece consisting of two tracks. This single would get him officially discovered as a singles artist by Joakim Gävert, co-founder of the then fledgling Imperial Records. They would go on to sign Jose as their first official artist. By October of the same year, he would release his first solo album in Europe titled: "Veneer." It was then later released in the UK on April 25th, 2005 and the USA on September 6th, 2005. Jose Gonzalez has a signature sound of soft classical guitar accompanied by his melodic voice. Though his works are mostly original, he has done covers of various artists over the years such as "Heartbeats" by The Knife and "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen. He would eventually record a second album, "In Our Nature" that would release worldwide on September 22nd, 2007. He would later win an EBBA award for this album. Since 2009, he has been working with experimental music and releasing new singles such as his 2015 single, "Leaf Off/The Cave."
