The Cold War Kids are an American band that originated from Long Beach, California. Since its establishment, which was in 2004, the band has consistently delivered indie rock tunes to the music world. The band, in total, consists of four members. Nathan Willett is a vocalist, pianist and guitarist. Dann Gallucci is a guitarist and keyboardist. Matt Maust it the bassist while Matt Aveiro plays the role of the drummer. The Cold War Kids had very humble beginnings as the group started up in the apartment of a fellow musician. Jonnie Russell, who was the owner of the home, lived on top of a restaurant named Mulberry Street located in downtown Fullerton, California. These beginnings would later prove to be significant to the band since the title of their first EP, Mulberry Street, was named after the restaurant. The band garnered much success in the year 2006 that elevated their status as a prominent rock band. In 2006, they released two EPs: Up in Rags and With Our Wallets. All this progress caught the attention of independent music publishing and record label heavyweights, Downtown Records. The Cold War Kids would eventually get signed by Downtown and release their debut LP, Robbers and Cowards, in the summer of 2006. After a successful 2006 year, the band would go on a two year worldwide tour. After the completion of the tour, the group went back home to Long Beach to begin the production of their second album, Loyalty to Loyalty.
