Chronixx is part of the "Reggae Revival," the themes of much of his music involve being resilient, and themes of romance and anti-war sentiment. He began songwriting at a young age with his father, a musician who goes by the name "Chronicle" and recorded his first song at age 11, a gospel tract. His first studio album was released in 2011, and was entitled "Hooked on Chronixx." Throughout the following year, his popularity grew and he got plenty of airplay in Jamaica, as well as performing at nightclubs and a festival called Reggae Sumfest. The next studio album hit in 2014, "Dread and Terrible" and within weeks had topped the Billboard Music Reggae Charts. By this time, his popularity had spread far beyond Jamaica, becoming known worldwide. He has won awards for Best New Artist and Entertainer of the Year, as well as Culture Artist of the Year at the Linkage Awards in New York City. In addition, Chronixx has given many concerts and performed on the Tonight Show. Some of his most popular tracts are "Here Comes Trouble" and "Dread."
