Comprised of members Noah Lenox, (Panda Bear), Brian Weitz (Geologist), Josh Dibb (Deacon), and David Portner (Avey Tare), Baltimore, Maryland born Animal Collective creates a unique blend of experimental, psychedelic indie rock. In 1995, Animal Collective released their debut 7-inch-single Padington Band which was an album of random jams influenced by the band members then use of the drug LSD. Through the rest of the 1990s, Animal Collective took time to attend college before coming back together to release their debut album Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished in 2000. In total, Animal Collective has released a total of 10 albums, and they are known as one of the hottest bands in indie rock music. Animal Collective is an improvisational band whose live concert experience is always full of different and groundbreaking sounds that have made them a popular act both while embarking on a solo tour and as a contributing band on the festival circuit.
