Concerts from Amon Amarth
Amon Amarth is a melodic death metal band from Tumba, Sweden. Core members Johan Hegg, Olavi Mikkonen, Johan Söderberg, Ted Lundström and Fredrik Andersson formed the group in 1992. The band derived their name from a volcano name in one of J. R. R. Tolkien's novels. Since forming the group in the early '90s, Amon Amarth has released eight full-length studio albums and one extended player. A lot of the band's lyric content comes from Norse myths and legends before the Christian era. They have been classified by critics as espousing a lot of Viking history and embellishments within the band's song lyrics. Moreover, the band has described their blend of music as classic death metal. In 2013, the group released their eighth studio offering called Deceiver of the Gods. A lot of the themes on the Deceiver of the Gods album deal with end of the world scenarios and themes.
