Albert Hammond, Jr. is an American musician best known for his work as the guitarist for the indie rock band the Strokes.

Hammond, Jr. was born in 1980 in Los Angeles, the son of British-Gibraltarian songwriter Albert Hammond. While attending the prestigious school Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland in his teenage years, he met his future Strokes bandmate Julian Casablancas.

In 1998 Hammond, Jr. and Casablancas formed the Strokes with Nikolai Fraiture, Fabrizio Moretti, and Nick Valensi, who were Casablancas' former schoolmates. In January 2001, they released The Modern Age, a demo EP that led to a bidding war among major record labels. The Strokes went on to release five studio albums, twelve singles, and accompanying music videos.

For most of the Strokes' musical arrangements, Hammond Jr. plays rhythm guitar on a white Fender Stratocaster. Although Casablancas wrote many of the band's songs, Hammond, Jr. has written several songs, such as the more instrumental works like "Holland" and "Swiss Beats." Onstage, Hammond Jr. is known for his formal suite attire.

Albert Hammond, Jr. counts the Beach Boys, Frank Black, the Velvet Underground, John Lennon, and Matthew Sweet as some of his many musical influences. He has created two solo albums outside of his work with the Strokes. These albums, released in 2006 and 2007, reflect a more blues-oriented approach to his work. The Strokes reunited briefly in 2011 to produce two albums. Hammond, Jr. returned to his work as a soloist, releasing the EP AHJ in 2013, and 2015's Momentary Masters.
