Yuck is an indie and noise rock band that hailed straight out of the heart of London, England during the year 2009. The band members are Max Bloom (guitar, vocals), Mariko Doi (bass, vox) and Johnny Rogoff (drums). Frontman Max Bloom initially played in the indie band, Cajun Dance Party, along with former Yuck member Daniel Blumberg. Blumberg left the band in 2013 to pursue his music project entitled “Hebronix”. Their self-titled album debuted on February 21, 2011 and was released in the UK through Fat Possum, an American-based independent record label. Critics alike have compared their sounds to that of Sonic Youth and the shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine. On April 12, 2012, the band had released a non-album track called “Chew” on their official SoundCloud page. Shortly after; the band revealed to their fans on Facebook that they would be recording their second album (Glow & Behold) in late April. BBC Radio 1 presenter, Huw Stephens, debuted Yuck’s single entitled “Middle Sea” off of their second album on August 13, 2013. While on tour in January 2014, during a performance in Portland, Oregon the band announced and played a song from their untitled EP that is to be released later that year.
