State Radio is band that defied normal convention and resisted the cliché of their musical genre calling. Fueled by the enervation and hope of inevitable revolution, State Radio fuels a politically charged lyrical quality with a punk-influenced backdrop of punk, rock, reggae and ska beats and sounds. This three man machine from Sherborn, Massachusetts consisting of Chad "Stokes" Urmston (vocals, guitar), Chuck Fay (bass) and Mike Najarian (drums) takes a lot of their inspiration from travels and stories of strangers they meet. Stokes, in fact, between projects, will go cross-country by train and write along the way. From their first full length album to their recent release, Rabbit Inn Rebellion (2012), these musical narratives are found throughout the State Radio discography. While pumping their energy into their songs and shows, State Radio has also made room for charity and humanitarian organizations. The group started their own non-profit, "Calling All Crows", which aims to promote full societal change through music and the fans. Funds go to support women in Sudan and Afghanistan. The band also has racked thousands of hours of community service for local communities in the U.S. and Europe.
