Naughty Boy, also known as Shahid Kahn, was a British songwriter and record producer before he signed a recording contract with Virgin EMI Records in 2012. He first captured attention for Chipmunk's number one single "Diamond Rings," which he co-wrote and produced. The song also featured an unknown Emile Sande. Naughty Boy went on to produce a top-ten records for Wiley which also featured Sande. Naughty Boy produced and co-wrote most of Sande's debut album "Our Version of Events." Sande went on to win the 2012 BRIT Awards' Critics Choice. Naughty Boy released two singles that rose to the top of the charts. "Wonder," a collaboration with Sande, was a top ten single. "La La La" featuring Sam Smith and "Lifted," again featuring Sande, were both number one hits. "La La La" also rose to number three in Ireland and Scotland. After the success of his singles, he released his own debut album, "Hotel Cabana," in 2013. The album contained collaborations with music notables such as Gabrielle and Ed Sheeran. It rose to number two on the UK music charts. Naughty Boy established his first recording studio in his parents' garden shed. An award from the Princes Trust in 2005 as well as a winning run on the game show "Deal or No Deal" provided enough money to purchase the necessary equipment to expand his Naughty Boy Recordings company. Besides helping boost Emile Sande's career, Naughty Boy has worked with talent such as Lily Allen, Britney Spears, Tinie Tempah, and Leona Lewis.
