Lamb of God is a heavy-metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1990. Formed by Randy Blythe, Mark Morton, Willie Adler, John Campbell, and Chris Adler, the quintet uses 2 guitars, bass, vocals and drums to create a sound that has become widely influential in the heavy-metal circuit. They have six studio albums under their belt and one live record to boot. In 2007 the metal band received a Grammy nomination for their 2006 recording Sacrament. Lamb of God have performed at Ozzfest two times as well as toured with Slayer in 2006. Recently, Lamb of God have toured with Metallica, Megadeath and performed at the main stage at the 2006 Mayhem Festival. One of the main differences between Lamb of God and their metal band contemporaries is their use of biblical and political themes in their music. In recent interviews, the band has expressed quite clearly that they are non-religious and their political references are not in favor of one party or another but to highlight their critique of both religion and politics, respectively. Lamb of God continue to play music festivals and tour world wide, and they are currently working on their seventh full length album.
