Gotye is an indie rock musician who performs as both a solo artist and as part of the indie rock band The Basics. Gotye has a wide range of musical talents that include singing and playing a variety of instruments that include drums, guitar, percussion, keyboards and synthesizer and because of his vast array of musical talents, he is able to create a truly experimental and eclectic blend of musical sounds.
Born as Wouter De Backer, Gotye has released 3 solo albums, 2001's Boardface, 2006's Like Drawing Blood and 2010's Making Mirrors. These 3 albums have created the singles "Hearts A Mess", "Somebody That I Used To Know", and the APRA Music Awards nominated song of the year "Eyes Wide Open". Gotye has performed in concert on tour as both a solo artist and as a part of The Basics and in 2011, he teamed up with popular bands Jane's Addiction and Coldplay to perform in the annual Australian Splendour in the Grass music festival.
