Demi Lavato began her show business career as a cast member on the children's TV show, Barney and Friends. She was a part of a cast that sang and danced to kid friendly songs. Lavato appeared in 9 episodes of the show. 

Lavato began working with the Disney Channel in 2007. In 2008, she appeared in the 2008 Disney film, Camp Rock. The musical comedy starred the music group, The Jonas Brothers. Lavato performed 3 songs on the film's soundtrack CD with the Jonas Brothers.

Lavato's debut album, Don't Forget, hit number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her association with Disney had launched her into stardom.

Demi's ties with the Jonas Brothers continued when she became the opening act for the group's Burning It Up tour.

Lavato's second album, Here We Go Again, hit the Billboard chart at number 1, eventually selling 500,000 copies.

For two years Lavato was a judge on the music reality show The X-factor. The show seemed to grow her brand. Her personality came through, and she was adept at throwing barbs at controversial co-host Simonb Cowell.

Demi's third album, Unbroken, was released in September 2011. It soared to number 4 on the Billboard charts, again reaching gold record status.

The hit song, "Heart Attack," from her self-titled fourth CD, reached number 10 on the singles chart.
