The band members are The David Grisman Quintet, The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, Great American String Band, Bluegrass Mandolin Ensemble, Old & In the Way and Here Today. His musical style is mainly considered bluegrass, progressive bluegrass, traditional folk, jam band and gypsy jazz.
