In 2010, he rose to fame in his native country and that same year he signed with EMI Music, with whom he recorded his debut album "Real", which became a gold record in Colombia. His second album, "La Familia" (2013) was the one that achieved international success with singles such as "6 AM" or "Ay Vamos", a song that earned him a Latin Grammy. The song "6 AM" also became the first single in Spanish to get a diamond record in the United States. In 2015, he embarked on a tour alongside Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull and collaborated with Farruko, Major Lazer, and Miley Cyrus. The collaborations he has made with other artists throughout his career have always gone automatically to successes, as is the case of Rosalía, who appeared on the song Brillo from the album Vibras (2018). A year later, J Balvin released a joint album with Bad Bunny titled Oasis. J Balvin's latest release is the LP Colores (2020), his sixth studio album consisting of ten songs with color titles each with a video clip. In a short time, J Balvin has become one of the most relevant figures of the reggaeton and urban music scene nowadays.
