Edward Christopher Sheeran (1991), also known as Ed Sheeran is an English singer and songwriter. Ed started playing the guitar and producing his own songs at an early age. In 2008, Ed moved to London at an early age in pursuit of a music career. Ed achieved mainstream success with the 2011 release of his single The A Team and following the release of his premier studio album + (Plus) he became an international sensation. It topped various music charts worldwide and acclaimed critical success. On the back of his international success he performed on Taylor Swift's Red Tour in 2013, and they subsequently worked together on the single Everything Has Changed. On June 2014, Ed Sheeran's next album x (Multiply) was launched. It eclipsed the success of his previous album by not only topping the UK Album Chart but also reaching Number One on the US Billboard 200. The album featured tracks such as Thinking Out Loud which gained recognition at the Grammys, winning Song of the Year and Best Solo Pop Performance. During 2017, Ed released two tracks, Castle on the Hill and Shape of You for his eagerly waiting fans. Shape of You topped music charts globally. Ed then released his album ÷ (Divide); the album broke a Spotify record for first-day album streams with the highly-respectable figure of 56.7 million streams. Ed Sheeran's esteemed career has meant he has been the recipient of many awards, certifications and accolades. Consequentially, Sheeran's influence has transcended the music industry. In 2017, he received royal recognition, receiving the Most Excellent Order of The British Empire (MBE) for his services to charity and music. Perhaps Ed's most striking attribute is his ability to transcend genres and incorporate a range of styles in his music, whilst continually topping charts worldwide. Ed has achieved unprecedented heights since his decision to move to London in hope of forging a successful music career, he is now one of Spotify's most streamed artists.
