Snow Patrol is an indie/alternative rock band that was originally formed in 1994 by Irish college students Gary Lightbody, Marc McClelland and Michael Morrison under the band name the Shrug. Today, the only remaining original member is Gary Lightbody who performs along with the band's current lineup of Jonny Quinn, Nathan Connolly, Paul Wilson, Tom Simpson, and Johnny McDaid.
Snow Patrol's first 3 albums, Starfighter Pilot, Songs For Polarbears and When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up were relatively unsuccessful, independent releases, but they finally received long overdue mainstream success with their 2003 major label debut album, Final Straw. Their following albums Eyes Open, A Hundred Million Suns, Up To Now and Fallen Empires further cemented their success by producing hit songs like "Chasing Cars", "Open Your Eyes", "Take Back The City", and "Called Out In The Dark", and over the years since Snow Patrol's initial success they have played in concert both as a headlining band and as the opening act for Coldplay's Viva la Vida Tour and U2's 360 Degree Tour.
Here is the music video for Snow Patrol's single "Called Out In The Dark" off their album, Fallen Empires.
