Schoolboy Q, born as Quincy Matthew Hanley, is a hip hop artist who was born in Frankfurt, West Germany in October of 1986. In 2008 Schoolboy Q released his first mixtape, Schoolboy Turned Hustla, which was quickly followed by his second mixtape, Gangsta & Soul. In January of 2011, Schoolboy Q released his debut studio album titled Setbacks, which was followed by 2012's Habits & Contradictions, and he has also made appearances on songs with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Glasses Malone and Ab-Soul. Although Schoolboy Q has confessed to being influenced by artists like Biggie, Nas and 50 Cent, he claims he derived his rhyming technique from mega rap superstar Jay-Z. Although he is a relative newcomer to the world of rap music, Schoolboy Q recently embarked on 2012's The Groovy Tour alongside fellow rap star Ab-Soul, a tour which marked Schoolboy Q's first time appearing on the concert stage.
