Information of Primal Scream

Primal Scream, a Scottish band, was formed in 1982 by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie. They were part of the indie rock scene in the eighties, but it wasn't until they began incorporating elements of psychedelic and garage rock into their music that they found mainstream success with their album, "Screamadelica," released in 1991.

The band has seen many members come and go over the years, with Gillespie as the main constant. With these changes came new musical influences in their work. "Vanishing Point," their 1997 release, featured more of a dark dub rhythm than their previous albums. Their sixth album, "XTRMNTR," released in 1999, showcased songs steeped in politics and had a much angrier tone than their other work. Their next album, "Evil Heat," continued in this vein, although not as overtly, and is notable for Kate Moss' professional singing debut.

Despite the changes in band members and sound, Primal Scream has released ten albums. In 2013 they released "More Light," the first album on their own label, First International.
