Information of Mumford & Sons
Mumford & Sons is a bluegrass and folk band that formed in West London in 2007. The band consists of Marcus Mumford, Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane. They are known for using traditional folk instruments such as the banjo, dobro, mandolin and accordion. Mumford & Sons song lyrics have a strong literary influence. The songs "Dustbowl Dance" and "Timshel" were heavily influenced by John Steinbeck novels, and the songs "Sigh No More" and "Roll Away Your Stone" contain lines by Shakespeare. Mumford & Sons gained popularity when the single and music video for "Little Lion Man" were released in the US in 2010. The single gained position on the charts quickly after performing it on Late Night With David Letterman on February 2010. In December of that year they were nominated for Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Rock Song for "Little Lion Man". Sales of the single increased 99% after the band performed the song at the Grammy Awards. The band went from playing small venues in the UK in 2008 to playing a major worldwide tour in 2010, and they appear annually for a concert at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.
