Michael Bolton is regarded as one of the most successful singers of all time. Michael Bolton was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1953. Throughout the '70s and '80s, Michael Bolton performed in countless heavy metal and hard rock bands before becoming a tremendously successful international recording star. His style has been described by critics as smooth, soft-rock and ballad-rock. Additionally, Michael Bolton has received numerous Grammy and American Music Awards throughout his prolific and long lasting musical career. Michael Bolton released his first solo album in 1975. Since his debut album release, Michael Bolton has gone on to release seventeen full-length studio offerings. Additionally, Michael Bolton has appeared in numerous films as well as co-written many famous soundtracks. Most notably, Bolton has contributed original material to the films Meet Wally Sparks, Snow Dogs, High Voltage, The Onion Movie and Two and a Half Men. He has also co-produced a number of movie soundtracks as well. Eight of Bolton's albums have reached the Top Ten as well as achieved two number one singles on the prestigious Billboard Music Charts. When Michael Bolton was very young, his parents got divorced and shortly after his father passed away. This was said to have had a profound influence on his musical and songwriting career.
