The Rave Indie Rock group was founded in 2005 when Jamie Reynolds, James Righton and Simon Taylor-Davis met through the girlfriend of Jamie Reynolds. The band originally called themselves the "Klaxons (Not Centaurs)". The name of the band was derived from "The Futurist Manifesto." The band's singles began to be played regularly on local radio stations. Many different record labels were after the band to sign on with them however, in 2006, the band chose to sign on with Polydor Records. In late 2006 the release of their single "Magick" reached the UK Top 40 ranking 29th. By 2007, the band had jumped up the UK Top 40 ranking 16th with their single "Golden Skans." The Klaxons released their first single on vinyl. The song was called "Gravity's Angel." In 2007, the band released their first album called "Myths Of The Near Future." The album received the Nationwide Prize in 2007. Many feel it is one of the best indie rock albums of the decade. In 2010 the band decided to release its second album, "Surfing The Void." In 2014 the band will be releasing its third album, "Love Frequency." Through out their career they have been given the opportunity to play worldwide to include headlining the "NME Indie Rave Tour." Since 2007, the Klaxons have been nominated for many awards and have been able to win several such as Best Album by Mecury Prize, Best New Band by NME Awards and Best International Track by NME Awards USA.
