Kasey Lee Musgraves, born August 21, 1988, is a country singer and songwriter. The Texas born songstress, who made her entrance into the music world in 2002, has delighted fans and country music lovers with her multitude of talents. Along with being a stand-out vocalist, Kasey also plays the acoustic guitar, madolin and harmonica. Kasey developed her talents at a young age. At age nine, Kasey started song writing. Her first song was called "Notice Me." Kasey's road to stardom wasn't always under the spotlight. She released her first album, Movin' On, independently in 2002. It didn't get her much attention so, she continued self-releasing albums. 2003 was similar to 2002. Her second self-released album was entitled Wanted: One Good Cowboy. After releasing these albums in back to back years, Kasey waited until 2007 to release her third album. 2007 proved to be Kasey's breakthrough year. In 2007, she independently released her third album and also landed a spot USA Network's Nashville Star. Participating in the show brought Kasey a lot of attention. Though she finished 7th on Nashville Star, the exposure elevated her profile. Kasey outdid her 2007 campaign in 2012 when she was signed by Mercury Records. She would later release her debut single, "Merry Go Round," that same year. The single would go on to sell over 600,000 records. The successful single led up to the production of her debut album Same Trailer Different Park. The album peaked at number one on the US Country charts.
