John Mayer is a pop and rock musician and songwriter from Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston in the late 90s. However, his music career did not start until 2001. Mayer released his first solo record in 2001 with the full-length studio offering, Room For Squares. The album went Platinum and secured a spot for John Mayer on the US Music Charts as well as international stardom. His follow up second album entitled Heavier Things also went Platinum. In 2003, Mayer received a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal. Since 2001, John Mayer has released 5 full-length studio albums. He also has 7 Grammy Awards under his belt. In addition, John Mayer has toured extensively off the back of his albums' release. He has toured with countless stars in the realm of Pop and Rock. Some other bands John Mayer has toured with include Maroon 5, Guster, Ben Folds, The Wallflowers and Howie Day. John Mayer has been a big proponent of recording all of his live shows. Additionally, he inspires his fans to do the same. The reason Mayer states for allowing the taping of his concerts is to give back to his fans. John Mayer is currently working on his 6th full-length studio album.
