José Álvaro Osorio Balvin (Medellín, 1985), better known as J Balvin, is a Colombian reggaeton singer. Balvin started out in rock bands, and it was in rap that he released his first solo song. In 2010, he rose to fame in Colombia and that same year he signed with EMI Music, with whom he recorded his debut album “Real”, which went gold in Colombia. Throughout his career he has managed to position many of his songs at number one on the charts, especially on Billboard. Throughout his career, he has managed to position a large number of his songs at number one on the charts, especially on Billboard. His second album, "La Familia" (2013) was the one that achieved international success with singles such as "6 AM" or "Ay Vamos", a song that earned him a Latin Grammy. The song "6 AM" also became the first single in Spanish to get a diamond record in the United States. In 2015, he embarked on a tour alongside Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull and collaborated with Farruko, Major Lazer, and Miley Cyrus. The collaborations he has made with other artists throughout his career have always gone automatically to successes, as is the case of Rosalía, who appeared on the song “Brillo” from the album “Vibras” (2018). A year later, J Balvin released a joint album with Bad Bunny titled “Oasis. J Balvin's latest release is the LP “Colores” (2020), his sixth studio album consisting of ten songs with color titles each with a video clip. In a short time, J Balvin has become one of the most relevant figures of the reggaeton and urban music scene nowadays.
