Basement Jaxx is a popular British musical group that started their career back in 1994 in a club in South London. The band consists of two members Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe both of which were born in London. They are known for their upbeat electronic dance music. Basement Jaxx released their first full length CD named Remedy in 1999 and gained lots of popularity soon after that. Some of the singles on the CD included "Jump N Shout", "Bingo Bango" and Red Alert which was featured in the very popular movie "Bend it Like Beckham". In 2001 Basement Jaxx released another album called Rooty. This album featured songs such as "Romeo", "Do Your Thing" and "Get Me Off". Also on the Rooty album was the very popular song "Where's Your Head At" which was played in the movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider and was featured on the Lara Croft Tomb Raider soundtrack in 2001. Throughout the years Basement Jaxx also released a variety of other CD's such as Kish Kash in 2003 which they won a Grammy for. "The Singles" in 2005 which was released with a dvd. In 2006 they released "Crazy Itch Radio" as their fourth album. In 2009 the CD "Scars" was released and included guest appearances by Yoko Ono, Lightspeed Champion and Santigold. Basement Jaxx is also known for their great remixing skills. They have remixed songs for some of the biggest names in music including Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliot as well as Yoko Ono.
