Sum 41 was formed in the Canadian province of Ajax, Ontario in 1996. They are sometimes classified in the music genre of post-punk or punk revival movement of the nineties which also featured bands like Blink 182 and Offspring as contemporaries. The band's core members have never changed since the original inception of the group in the late nineties. The members of Sum 41 are Deryck Whibley who handles lead guitar and lead vocal duties, Tom Thacker on guitar and additional vocals, Jason McCaslin on bass duties and backing vocals, and Steve Jocz who plays drums. Three years after forming the band, Sum 41 was signed to an international record deal contract with Island Records, home of John Cale, Bob Marley and U2. All Killer, No Filler was released in 2001 to wide critical and fan acclaim. It marked the band's debut full length offering and launched the band onto a considerably famous career. The band has released five albums in sixteen years of being together. The albums in order of year are All Killer, No Filler (2001), Does This Look Infected (2002), Chuck (2004), Underclass Hero (2007), and recently the 2011 record, Screaming Bloody Murder.
