Tom Odell is a British singer and songwriter whose debut, "Songs From Another Love," was released in 2012 and went on to win the BRITs Critics' Choice Award in 2013. His debut studio album, "Long Way Down," was released in 2013. Tom Odell decided against going to The University of York at 18 to pursue his music career. He had played studio piano for years before, and attempted to get into a music school. Unsuccessful in that attempt, he spent his time at open-mic nights tryng to gain a foothold in the music world. Lily Allen, the label head for In the Name Of, a division of Columbia Records, discovered Tom Odell and signed him to the label, thinking him reminiscent of a young David Bowie. His music has been performed at Burberry runway shows and he has performed on "Later. . . with Jools Holland" in England and on "Conan O'Brien" in the United States.
